Wick Youth Club awarded the 'Volunteer Friendly Award'

Wick Youth Club has recently been awarded the 'Volunteer Friendly Award' which was designed to support, recognise and reward groups who are good at involving volunteers. Many essential services in Scotland’s communities are enhanced by volunteers. Volunteering also has a significant social value as it is increasingly being used to give excluded individuals the chance to build their confidence and skills through helping others.

1 Queen's Baton Bearer, 2 Olympic Torchbearers

Wick Youth Club is the only Youth Organisation in the whole of the UK who can boast to having a Commonwealth Baton Bearer and two Olympic Torch bearers on their committee. These three close friends: Cameron Reid, Louis Mackinnon and Andrew Sinclair have achieved this through their huge commitment to youth volunteering and have amassed hundreds of hours between them through their involvement with the Youth Club. We are very proud of them.

Play and Care Holiday Club

Are you working during the school holidays? Are you having problems finding somewhere for the kids to go to? Look no further. Wick Youth Club will be running a Care and Play Holiday Club throughout the summer for children aged 5 to 12 with whole and half day places available at very competitive rates. Discounts for more than one child in family. (Hourly placements subject to availability). Packed lunch required, snacks given throughout the day with Tuck Shop open for treats.

A Huge Thank You

A huge thank you to all those who turned out to support us at the Rosebank Playing Fields for our Easter Egg Hunt.

Over 70 children turned up with their parents and in total we gave out 40 easter prizes to those who entered bonnets and eggs and all those who found easter eggs with a prize ticket inside in the egg hunt.

A special thank you too, to the Easter Bunny who made lots of little people happy, Hallie Bremner for off...

Cameron Reid, chairperson, chosen as baton bearer for Wick for the Commonwealth Games

Congratulations to Cameron Reid, chairperson at Wick Youth Club who has been chosen as a baton bearer for the Commonwealth Games when the baton will be in Wick on 11th July. Well done Cameron we're really proud of you.

The Indigos first gig

Wick Youth Club are delighted to be associated with the Indigos who played their first gig last night at the Francis Street Club as part of a Variety Night in aid of the charity, CLIC Sargent.

It's only a few weeks since they started from scratch, practising in the Youth Club recording studio and look at them now.

A brilliant debut performance by all accounts.

Junior becomes a famous football mascot

Juniors raise £300 for children in Mwanza

Well done to all the kids in the "Cheeky Monkeys" Wednesday night club who collected money as part of their Sponsored Silence.

The magnificent sum of £300 was raised for the children of Mwanza in Tanzania to help buy much needed education supplies for their school.

Well done again.

Astronaut, Duane Carey, to visit Wick Youth Club

On Thursday 5th September 2013, Wick Youth Club will be holding a SPACE EVENING when we will be visited by former American astronaut, Duane Carey who piloted a 2002 mission onboard the space shuttle Columbia to upgrade the Hubble Space Telescope. The astronaut spent ten days in space orbiting the earth 165 times and travelled over 3.9 million miles on what was to be Columbia's last complete mission.
